About the project
While playing dominos, a man haunted by what he believes is the Vejigante's curse traps his friends in a ritualistic game of life and death, convinced their sacrifice is the only way to free his soul.

Comment from the project author.

This is a film I have been passionately working on since November of 2025. This story was inspired by my Puerto Rican heritage as well as the stories my grandfather would share with me while I stayed with him in New York City over the summer. He spoke of his childhood, his relationship with his brothers, and the culture that shaped their lives, including the legend of the Vejigante. I combined that culture with my love for psychological thrillers to create a film that honors my family's history while telling a fun narrative.

The most meaningful moment out of all of this came after the film was finished and I was finally able to share it with my grandfather. I can't even put into words how it was watching him see a story I made in honor of him. I was able to see him emotional and vulnerable, something he never shows. That was the most rewarding thing I could ever ask for. That reminded me why I wanted to share this story to begin with. Having Los Dominos being shown by such a respected film festival is such a huge honor, and has mark a personal milestone for me.
